Cashewbert Company (vegan cheese), Germany

Andrew Santos, a vegan of many years, wanted to learn how to make real fermented vegan cheese. There was nothing like that on the market so in 2015 he decided to go to Switzerland and take classes at the Käseschule Schweiz.

With his knowledge he applied traditional cheesemaking techniques to vegan cheeses. After experimenting with different ingredients, he got the recipe for the Cashewbert. He founded a company named after his original vegan cheese – Cashewbert Company. With his team, he makes three different kinds of vegan cheeses: blue cheese, white mold cheese, and his original Cashewbert.

His vegan cheeses are made with Plevnik Pasteurizer P 200 EL Professional with a controller MC500 R.

Besides vegan cheesemaking, Andrew organizes workshops to share his knowledge.  In addition to vegan cheeses, they also sell the ingredients for vegan cheesemaking on their online store. Mr. Santos is developing a new vegan cheese product – vegan hard cheese.
