Ferme de la Vie de Fer is a family-run dairy farm, located in the beautiful near Besançon in eastern France. With a farming tradition dating back to 1960, the farm is now managed by Caroline, Romain and Quentin, who proudly continue the family’s commitment to producing high-quality milk, while constantly developing their business through innovation and modern dairy processing.
With around 70 dairy cows grazing on approximately 150 hectares of grassland, the farm produces milk that meets the strict requirements of the Comté PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), reflecting the region’s rich cheesemaking heritage and high production standards.
Each member of the family plays an important role in the business. Caroline is responsible for dairy processing, sales and accounting, while Romain and Quentin take care of the livestock and crop production, as well as assisting with product deliveries.
For many years, Ferme de la Vie de Fer focused on producing high-quality milk. In 2019, the family decided to take the next step by investing in its own dairy processing facility and farm shop. Inspired by a desire to create something of their own and build closer relationships with customers through direct sales, they invested in Plevnik’s Pasteurizer P 300 EL Adv+. As production continued to grow, they further expanded their processing capacity by adding a Plevnik Pasteurizer P 300 EL PRO in 2025.
This investment marked an important milestone in the farm’s development, enabling the family to transform their own milk into a wide range of dairy products and offer them directly to consumers.
“The Plevnik equipment is very practical, easy to operate, reliable and durable. We also appreciate the excellent after-sales support.”
– Caroline, Ferme de la Vie de Fer
Looking ahead, the farm plans to expand its product range with dairy desserts, increase its milk processing volume to 80,000 litres, and enlarge its cold storage facilities to support its continued growth.
