Videc Farm, Slovenia

The Videc cheese farm is located in the Dolenjska region in Slovenia. At the Tincl homestead, after which their semi-hard goat cheese is named, they have 170 goats of the Slovenian roe deer breed, whose milk is processed into a wide range of quality and award-winning products: young, semi-hard and aged cheeses, yoghurts, whey, ricotta and fresh curd. When Franci and Sonja Videc, took over the farm in 1987, in addition to cabbage growing and charcoal production, they started goat breeding. Over time, they started cheese-making which is now their main source of income. Today the farm breeds goats sustainably and they are free to roam around the property.

Videc cheese farm strives for quality. In addition to the “Selected Quality” label, their products also have the “Hay Milk” label. Because Franci and Sonja strive for quality, they use Plevnik cheese kettle SKH 650 HW Professional.

“We have been using Plevnik cheese kettles for more than 20 years. Due to the increased demand, our old kettle became too small so we replaced it with a new and larger one – SKH 650 HW Professional. We were pleasantly surprised with the technological progress. From our perspective, the device is wonderful. The harps are great. They rotate in both directions, are easy to install, extremely strong and at the same time thin enough to cut the cheese mass into beautiful cubes (big and small). We are also very impressed with the mixing paddles which really make the job easier. Due to the shape of the kettle, there is no room for the accumulation of the cheese mass, so we do not have to constantly interfere with the process. No control or additional mixing is required while the cheese grains are drying. While the cheese kettle is working, we can focus on other tasks in the dairy. In the same Plevnik cheese kettle we make several types of completely different cheeses (soft, young, semi-hard and hard cheese …) “

During the pandemic they are working smoothly. They mostly sell to markets and larger stores, the restaurants are slowly opening back up. They launched a new online store, where customers can directly buy their milk products.
