Dairy Bukovina, Slovakia

Agronova Liptov, s.r.o. farms approximately 1,300 ha of land. It includes sheep and cattle breeding with milk production. In 2013, they made the decision to finalize dairy production with their own production of cheese and dairy products. With this goal in mind, they started the construction of a dairy that would process the entire production of sheep’s milk and part of the production of cow’s milk and enable the production of fresh, steamed and matured cheeses, yogurts and other dairy products.

The construction of the dairy Bukovina, in the heart of Liptov, near the Liptovská Mara dam, was completed in March 2016. The cheese factory is equipped with the most modern dairy technology from the Plevnik company: Pasteurizer P 200 EL PRO, Cheese kettles SKH 100 EL ADV and SKH 500 EL ADV+, Press PPS-U4, Butter churn PJ 25, Separator SP 315 and Draining table SOM 159. It meets all the criteria of European regulations with the possibility of exporting its products to EU countries as well. Dairy Bukovina enables the processing of own dairy production of sheep’s and cow’s milk into a wide range of dairy products, which are controlled within the internal quality control system as well as by food supervision and inspection authorities.

Mr. Kantis told us, that they are very satisfied with Plevnik cheesemaking equipment:  “Machines are reliable, easy to operate, made of high-quality materials, precisely manufactured. In addition, the boilers are energy efficient.”

At present, they process 1000 – 1500 liters of sheep’s and cows’ milk daily. The products are transported to supermarkets and smaller stores including their own store. In this way, they can add value to milk and earn much more than by selling raw milk. Watch the video below.
